I had a lot of fun with this one, translating 19th century Japanese garb to 21st century Western. It all came together while browsing for looks with palazzo pants!
 
Ironically, as a manga fan I'm really not fond of anime Kenshin's magenta gi, and yet the outfit just didn't seem right without it.
 
Random fun fact -- the ring is made of shibuichi, a copper/silver alloy used to ornament katana until the Meiji era.

I don't know Scarlet Witch that well, but she's always struck me as a refined, classy sort. It was fun putting together a boldly colored monochrome outfit without making it look clownish -- hope I succeeded!

As promised, a fancy dress outfit for Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel. I imagine this is what she'd wear to one of her publisher's shindigs; she strikes me as the type to prefer a suit over a cocktail gown.

Inspired by the latest codename and costume of Carol Danvers -- pilot, novelist, ex-spy, and all-around badass Avenger. This is an everday spin on her superhero threads with a few nods to her Air Force history. I'm thinking I'll have to do a party outfit at some point or another, though.

ETA: Gotta say this page from the comic -- http://bit.ly/LymPTp -- makes me feel vindicated! Especially since this outfit used to have a star-buckle belt.

Filling a Tumblr request for what Mary Jane Watson would wear on the red carpet. Elie Saab just seems like her kind of thing.

Sure, Daredevil's original costume is a bit goofy, but there's something about those retro boot buttons...
